Gyros seasoning



Nothing tastier than seasoning your own meat, chicken or fish. I prefer to use as little ready-made spice mixes as possible because they often contain a lot of salt. A homemade mix that I have regularly made and used are gyros spices. It is best served on chicken thigh strips and then on the BBQ, but it is certainly also very good on pork.

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin (Djintan)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds (Ketoembar)
  • 2 teaspoons of dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of dried chilli
